Predefinied VMS
Traffic situations can often be fully regulated by variable traffic signs that can display only a predefined set of messages.
Which of these predefined messages will be displayed depends on the specific road conditions. Predefined Variable Message Signs (VMS) are used when it is necessary to communicate one of several preset messages to the driver.
These signs can display a specific number of traffic sign pictograms, along with predefined text messages, flashers, and similar elements.
The advantage of these signs over matrix-based displays lies in the precise geometry of the pictograms and text, as well as in their lower purchase and operating and maintenance costs.
Simple software integration and management
These signs are usually connected to Traffic Management Software (ITS) via Ethernet or RS485 serial communication. DMV offers a wide range of standard communication protocols for seamless integration, including Modbus, Profibus, NTCIP, UTMC, Sitos, RSMP, and NMCS via RS485, as well as control via digital inputs/outputs.

During software integration, you can rely on full support from our software team and our dedicated tools for protocol development and debugging.
Besides integration in different ITS platforms, these signs could also be managed via DMV software:
Command Console (Android or Windows-based application) – service software used for direct control and maintenance on the site or
Control Center (Web-based portal or SCADA server software)

DMV has manufactured thousands of different predefined signs. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and speed; even for small quantities, we can swiftly design custom LED boards and produce signs that fully comply with project specifications or unique customer requirements.
There are no limitations regarding sign dimensions. We produce all of them, from predefined signs in size range A (standard EN12966), typically used in tunnels, to signs in size range E (standard EN12966), designed for highways with three or more lanes.
Maximum visibility with high power efficiency
Thanks to the superbly designed optics for all certified pixel itches, our signs meet the highest optical classes of the EN12966 standard – L3, R3, C2, B3, B6, or B7 with small percentages of current through the diodes.
This provides a very long LED lifetime and low power consumption. Signs are designed with constant-current LED drivers that provide stable luminance, independent of mains-voltage tolerances.
