Traffic light counters are an addition to traffic lights that inform road users of the remaining time before the light color changes. The timers are intended for all road users (vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians). They are easy to install, lightweight, and energy-efficient.
Counters are made with RGB LED digits. They can have 2 digits (counting down from 99) or two and a half digits (counting down from 199). The highest-quality components and top-brand LEDs are used in production.
Operating Mode
There are two ways these counters can operate:
Counter communicates with the traffic light controller
The first is that the counter communicates with the traffic light controller and receives a signal indicating the length of the cycle it should count down. The countdown starts automatically when the traffic light controller activates the corresponding phase, and the counter’s operation is fully coordinated with the traffic light device.
Counter works in “self-learning” mode
Another possibility is that the counter works in “self-learning” mode. It receives its signal directly from the red, yellow, and green lights of the traffic lights to which it is connected. It automatically recognizes and memorizes the duration of signal cycles based on traffic light operation. After registering two consecutive identical cycles, the counter begins to display the countdown to the next signal cycle change.
RGB LED Technology
TRS-TLC are made with RGB LED digits. They can have 2 digits (counting down from 99) or two and a half digits counting down from 199). The highest quality components and top brand LEDs (Nichia) are used for TRS-TLC production.
There is an option to order a traffic light counter from us in the following form:
“Board“, “No case” i “Case“.
BOARD
DMV supplies electronics only (PCB CPU/LED board and additional electronic components) without the front panel and without the housing. The electronics are designed and ready for installation into a 210 mm or 300 mm diameter traffic signal housing, with a standard colorless traffic signal lens positioned in front.
NOCASE
DMV supplies the electronics (PCB CPU/LED board and additional electronic components) together with a powder-coated front made from aluminium and LED lenses for each individual LED. The lenses are designed to ensure clear visibility of the countdown digits in all weather conditions. The model is delivered ready for installation into a 210 mm or 300 mm diameter traffic signal housing.
CASE
DMV supplies this countdown timer model in a compact powder-coated aluminum housing with its own mounting bracket. The product is fully compliant with the EN12966 standard and meets the highest specified mechanical and optical classes: Luminance L3, Contrast R3, Color C2, and Beam Width B7.
